If you purchase a discounted phone with a two-year contract and then cancel after the 14-day return period, Sprint will charge a pro-rated Early Termination Fee (ETF) based on the duration of your remaining service.*
If you cancel service early, Sprint charges an Early Termination Fee of up to $350/line for Advanced Devices & up to $200 ETF/line for other devices.
The ETF is prorated and is calculated by taking the months remaining on your Service Agreement times $20 for Advanced Devices, with a maximum of $350, and minimum of $100.
For all other devices, the prorated ETF is calculated by taking the months remaining times $10 with a maximum of $200 and minimum of $50.
NOTE: No ETF applies for cancellations in compliance with Sprint’s Return Policy. Sprint will refund the activation/upgrade fee if service is cancelled within 3 days of activation. Customers are responsible for all their usage charges (included but not limited to Monthly Rate Charges, add-ons, casual or out-of-plan usage and related taxes and Sprint surcharges). For additional details, visit www.sprint.com/etf.
For customers to avoid the ETF, AmazonWireless must receive Sprint returns within 14 days (which supersedes our 30-day standard return policy).
*Customers in Minnesota have 30 days to return their phone/device and deactivate service. Starting 11/14/2011, this will change to the standard 14-day policy.
