If your phone is broken, lost, or just needs to be replaced, you can purchase a carrier phone without a plan at AmazonWireless. Just find the phone you're interested in, click through to the product information page for that phone, and select the option “Phone only (no service)” to see the price without a plan and complete your purchase. Your contract with your carrier will not be extended and you can continue to use your new phone with your current service plan.

What is a replacement cell phone?
A replacement cell phone is a new carrier cell phone you can buy without the need to sign up for a new plan or extend your current contract. This can be a good option if your current phone is broken, lost, or just needs to be replaced and you are not yet eligible for an upgrade with your carrier.
How is this different from an unlocked phone?
Replacement phones are designed to work with the carrier’s network and can be purchased for all four carriers (AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless).
Unlocked phones are GSM cell phones that use a SIM (Subscriber Identification Module) card to store subscriber data. The SIM card is issued by a carrier and provides cell service by activating any phone into which it is inserted.
The "lock" is a software setting that keeps the cell phone "loyal" to one carrier. A locked phone will only recognize a SIM card from a particular carrier.
Unlocked devices are cell phones that recognize SIM cards from any carrier. They work only with AT&T and T-Mobile in the U.S., but also work internationally with local SIM cards.
Am I signing up for a new contract?
No. You are just buying the phone and not signing up for a new contract. You can use your new phone with your existing plan from your current carrier.
