Great Hotspot July 16, 2012

Reviewer:  Jore  (Fresno, CA) -

Its an overall great hotspot device. It connects to the best connection between 3G, wimax, and LTE. Its a little bulky but only because of the high capacity battery that takes a long time to charge. When it is fully charged it gives you a good 8-10 hours of constant usage which is not bad at all compared to other hotspot devices. Again LTE is not yet available for most areas and who knows when it will be as they are slowly rolling out LTE so it may be another year or so before you even get LTE service in your area. Its a great device and gives you good speeds if all your doing is surfing the web and checking emails while you travel. Most people are not going to be streaming videos because that will eat up your data plan in a snap.

If your looking for LTE speed now, then you'll need to go to another carrier. But if your willing to accept 3G and wimax for now which is still fast speeds for most people, then this device is excellent.

Sprint currently gives you more data for your money so thats always a plus compared to other carriers!

Excellent!! June 19, 2012

Great reception, speed and relablitiy! My Trifi switchs between netorks without touching a button and has the best reception I have ever seen from mobile hotspot. Only complaint is the amount of time it takes to charge the 3200mah battery.

Not good in weak-signal areas January 14, 2013

Reviewer:  Don Edwards

Mobile-hotspot makers in general need to test their devices more in areas with poor reception, and this is no exception. While it doesn't have a severe overheating (and resulting battery-bloating) problem like the Overdrive - also from Sierra Wireless - it is in several other regards significantly inferior to that device.

* The antenna isn't as good.

* When first booting up, if it tries and fails to get a cell connection, it often decides to reboot the wifi side

* It has an internal web server for the configuration pages. If it doesn't have a cell connection, the advanced-configuration pages won't load. And if it has a weak unstable connection, it reboots the webserver frequently. This makes changing the configuration difficult and installing a firmware update (once you manage to download it through a different internet connection) impossible.

It may be good if you have a reliable strong wifi signal. But if you actually use it as a MOBILE hotspot, can you rely on that?

So how much does it cost? January 2, 2013

Reviewer:  Dorothy Hungerford  (wellington florida usa) -

Why do you not just quote a price? gimmicks and guessing r a waste of time U r a great co., so why do this? Many people don't have time to guess at what is a fair price or even just a price and putting it in the shopping cart and all that. I need this product but I didn't purchase it. Once I found out how much product was, I was offended. Maybe u want me to tell u how much I think I should pay? I don't understand or like strategies that seem to trick the consumer. In this economy people will need to be more careful than ever about what they spend. A company like yours is supposed to help people save money and not have to look elsewhere for a better price. Thank you Amazon for your consideration of this matter.
