Do not buy this phone May 5, 2012

Reviewer:  Gato

This phone has been nothing but trouble. The first one would go blank and I would have to remove the battery to get it to boot.
The second phone (after several trips to the warranty store)fails to ring on occasion. ATT is offering very limited help.

DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE March 29, 2012

Reviewer:  TRob

I purchased this phone March 7, 2012 as my first Android. It is loaded with features, even has an FM tuner. Here is the bad part, the phone has an issue that causes it to reboot at random or simply freeze up. My phone rebooted at first in the middle of a call. Some users have reported the phone rebooting and then looping from start up to shut down over and over. I personally didn't have it loop continuously but it would reboot several times in a row. Until Motorola gets this fixed I would highly recommend staying away from this phone.

Have had it for a week, and it is the bomb, fast and smooth. Pros screen, speed, response , camera could be a little better. this phone is fast and the call quality is awesome. Highly recommended.

Good at first, then falls off. July 15, 2012

Reviewer:  F1 Fan

This is my first Android phone. I started with the iPhone 3g, then 3Gs, and the iPhone 4 and 4s didn't seem like a different enough phone and no 4G so I tried the Atrix 4G.

I was very happy with it for the first couple months. The Android interface was not as snappy as IOS but the phone's data speeds and interface were nice. The battery lasted at least a couple days between charges and I could stream netflix from about anywhere.

Fast forward 5 months and now I have what is basically a useless phone. The cell reception has dropped to a point where I cannot use the phone in 75% of my house. The wifi signal is almost as abysmal. Streaming anything is out of the question. Even over wifi inside my house one room over from my router. The battery barely lasts one day.

It sucks because I wanted an alternative to the iPhone but I find myself reaching for my wife's iPhone 4s more and more often.

Motorola Atrix 2 -- A Fast Little Gadget December 27, 2011

Reviewer:  Mark Gielow

I must say, I was quite impressed with the phone. At first glance, it is a good looking phone with a nice rubbery, textured back. Call quality is good with a few different settings, and web browsing and the app market are very fast with the dual core processor. The interface is quite pleasant to use, and there are a number of widgets that come with the phone that are useful. The Navigation is also very pleasant to use.

As with most Android phones, it seems to use data in the background, which hopefully can be fixed. The camera is ok as long as you don't zoom, otherwise it is noisy and grainy. The 1080p video is very good except when zooming, which provides graininess.

Overall, it is a wonderful phone. I would much prefer this over and Iphone anyday!

Worst Phone I Ever Had May 16, 2012

Reviewer:  DIY Henri

I have not had any problems with any cell phones since I first bought them 20 years ago. Not one. The Motorola Atrix, however, is just a bad phone. This phone constantly loses its connectivity. I have missed so many calls. I have had to power down each time. I thought it was just my phone and it's a lemon. In asking people with the same phone, it's a constant problem and they hate this phone as much as I do and have the same connectivity problems. Worse is that I purchased this phone through best Buy Mobile and since I did not get the warranty, I have to send this back directly to Motorola.

No more Motorolas for me.

poor phone March 17, 2012

Reviewer:  lpol83712

I used an upgrade and purchased this phone which had the advantage over my iPhone of the ability to increase storage, change battery, wasn't tethered to iTunes to purchase, would be unlocked by ATT in 6 months so I could change the SIM card when out of the country. Unfortunately it just didn't work as a phone. I received a replacement shortly after getting the phone but the replacement phone didn't work properly either even after ATT store rebooted it back to the original settings. This week there were phone calls that went directly to voicemail--not set to do that- and they didn't even appear in the incoming log.
I then tried using the phone going from downtown to a close mall and had no service at all. At the mall I went into the ATT store and all the other phones had service but this one. They offered to replace it again but after having nothing but bad experience with it I elected to suck up my losses and go for iphone4S. It WORKS LIKE A PHONE SHOULD. I wanted the Android to work for the above reasons but it failed miserably and as physician I needed to be able to get phone calls when they are made. Maybe I just got two lemons but didn't want to reinstall apps a third time on this phone. It was a big error to have used my upgrade for this phone.

Atrix 2 had few issues December 6, 2011

Reviewer:  sten

I bought the Atrix 2 4G two weeks ago after reading so many good reviews about it. Since then I had 2 major issues with it. I could not stay connect to the home wi-fi. I had to setup wi-fi several times before it start to work. Next I try to load some music files to the Micro SD card. But phone did not recognize the micro SD cards (2 different kinds). I went to the web to see anybody had the same issue and found out so many people had the same issue and I could not find any solution other than replacing the phone with another. I am returning my phone and try to get something else.

Not Really a review-ish March 16, 2012

Reviewer:  Rose

I have the first Atrix, and I wanted to get this phone since I read it that it was coming out. I still did until I saw the specs compared to the first one. Similar since it is the same but seriously for memory wise I would settle for Atrix 1 than 2, even tho I have I think 8gb (i think) memory card would give me a total of 24gb memory.

Anyways I would love this phone because it gives +3mp extra to the Atrix 1 and they removed the finger sensor which was kinda annoying in Atrix 1 since it only worked 5 out of 50 tries lol. Bigger screen and resolution, well this competes to the latest iphone (4sor5) . Atrix 1 competes to the previous iphone..so basically it just an upgraded version of my phone I just despise the storage how they just downgraded it like that :(

Absolute JUNK March 6, 2012

Reviewer:  Bucke

I have owned this phone for several months, but 3 days after the 30 return policy ran out it has been a total nightmare. It freezes up, will not let you disconnect from a placed phone call, voicemail completely was gone, you never know what page it may decide to go to and eats the battery up. Took it back and of course all the lame excuses started. It was my fault for placing apps from the andriod store on the phone, I did not turn it off at least once a day and the best one was every time you have a problem set it back to factory default. Sure I really enjoy spending hours every day setting up a phone, RIGHT. Is it a lemon, of course, can you believe the glowing reviews about this phone or have they been placed by the AT&T folks? You will have to decide but given another chance I would RUN rather than walk away from this absolute JUNK phone.

Do Not Get This Phone October 25, 2011

Reviewer:  Jimi Yarborough "jimi"  (charleston, sc) -

This is probably one of the worst phones I have ever had...and I should know as I've had 7 of them now.(in less than 1 year)AT&T won't help me anymore and Motorola just keeps sending me back the same piece of junk or another refurbished piece of junk. Phone freezes, apps won't open, and if they do, it's a blank screen for about 20 seconds and then it just wants to force close. The screen won't unlock, texts won't show in the threaded view for about 30 seconds or more and then it takes another 30 seconds for to actually send.It drops calls, overheats, loses connectivity...the list goes on and on. Motorola doesn't care and neither does AT&T, they just want you to upgrade early so they can stick it to you for another 2yrs.
