Do NOT Buy This Phone

Wow, worst cell phone I have ever owned. Just wanted a phone for calls and texting, but this phone can't even handle that. It is super slow, freezes up, and the keyboard is awful. I actually don't even bother answering most of my messages now because it is so frustrating to use. I am upgrading ASAP.
Great Starter Phone

I loved this phone--it's my first and I have no idea why people are saying it's terrible. This phone was a great beginner phone; the keyboard is great and while the reception can be a little iffy on phone calls at times, it's still much better than other phones. The battery life is pretty good, it lasts about two days for me and I use my phone constantly. The only flaw I've found with the phone is that when the pop-up ads come on, sometimes when you dismiss them, it goes to the apps page, which takes a while to load and therefore a while to cancel out of.

This phone has several annoying aps that drain the battery and, worse yet, keep me from recieving calls. Cannot turn off the Daily Scoop and cannot turn off backup assistant. Just bought the phone last week am considering turning it in and getting something that is not a headache.\

The LG cosmos 2 is probably the best starter phone. Its cheap and easy to use. It does not require a data plan and slides easily. But, it doesnt have much. The camera isn't great and the numbers arent easy to press. Its a good messaging phone and its easy to type. But, I am looking forward to getting a new phone. I'm bored with this phone.Theres nothing to do on it. The price is good, though.
SUCKS

I got this phone a year and a half ago and it worked well for my purposes. No data plan, just simple call and text phone. I didn't want anything fancy, because I'm not a person who uses her phone extensively. One thing did bother me, and has continued to bother me, from the first day of using this phone: The DailyScoop app. This app sends ads to my phone, draining battery, and freezing my phone when I need to use it (I'd hate to think of what would happen if this ad got in the way during an emergency). I've been too lazy to get it removed, so it's been an ongoing headache.
Aside from that, the phone worked okay for a year. Call reception was clear, texts sent normally, and I dropped it several times without it breaking. This was one of the reasons why I got it, instead of a smartphone. I drop things pretty frequently, and the phone was cheap, so if it broke I could replace it easy.
6 months ago, I started having issues with the screen freezing while texting, and receiving long text messages out of order. The inbox would no longer show the first line of the message below the sender. It was not a big problem, so I ignored it. Unknowingly, I have also missed text messages that were sent to me. I just wouldn't receive them, and there would be no alert to it at all. People probably thought I was being taciturn when in actuality I hadn't received the message.
This past month, I've had to attempt to send messages (especially longer ones) multiple times before it would actually send. I would try to send a text, and it would tell me that the 'message failed to send'. But I would try several times, and it would finally send. People on the other end of these messages tell me I sent them 2-3 copies of the messages before they arrived in order.
This past week, I've been unable to receive picture messages at all. It just refuses to receive them. No matter how many times I ask it to retrieve the failed message, it won't do it. It has nothing to do with service nor data. No matter where I am, it won't retrieve the lost messages.
All in all, it was an okay experience slowly decaying into an awful one. After reading several reviews, I've noticed that many of the problems I've encountered are similar to what others have also had. Based on this, I would recommend a different phone, because this one has too many bugs and small grievances to be a low-maitenance phone like it's supposed to be.
SUCKS!

I don't know how some people could've written good reviews on this phone unless they were either paid by LG to write them or they just upgraded from their 80's era bag phone. Before getting this, I owned a Samsung Intensity (I) for 2 years prior and it absolutely ran circles around this hunk of junk. I chose the Cosmos 2 when my Intensity died since it closely resembled the other's in looks and features, but in the end all I feel I got was some bad Chinese knock-off.
As others have mentioned, this phone lags horribly when doing any kind of typing or scrolling on it. I literally have to wait 1-2 seconds (if not longer) for it to catch up when writing texts or scrolling through them. Makes me feel like I'm using a Windows 95 era computer which someone installed Windows 8 on. How a company could put something out ridiculously slow in this day in age is beyond me.
I'm staying away from LG after this one dies, which hopefully is soon!

This is the worst phone I have ever owned. the first one I purchased in August quit working 3 weeks after buying it. I ended up having it replaced and this one is just as bad. Frequently am told that they can not hear me and to call back. this even happens with cell to landline phones. Seems worse when I call someone who is not a Verizon subscriber. I am now in the process of looking for a new cell. Please save your money because this LG phone doesn not mean Life is good!!
A Pretty Smart Phone 4 a Non Smart Phone

DONT TEXT WHILE DRIVING, PLEASE. THE LIFE YOU SAVE MAY BE MINE, OR YOURS, OR YOUR KIDS. Hi.I am not one who needs a smart phone. But when I was a kid, only Dick Tracy or Maxwell Smart had a cell phone, So I think all of them are smart. However, I have been cellular since 1996. Phones have gotten better and better to the point that now even the cheapest 'free' phone is pretty good.
I was using a Cosmos 1 and the battery was getting thin, but it still was a good phone. I could have kept using it but I wanted a new phone and my Verizon contract gives an allowance for replacement periodically. I went in to get a new Cosmos 1. They gave me the good news that it was now the Cosmos 2.
The slider comes out the opposite way from the Cosmos 1. The Buttons on the front are big enough so I only misshit a number maybe 5 times a week, and I have large clunky fingers. The slide out qwerty keyboard has good sized buttons also. Great for texting. BUT DONT TEXT WHILE DRIVING!
The phone speaks out the name of the caller or the phone number before the ringing starts, unless the ringer is turned off. NICE!!
The display is much nicer looking than Cosmos 1. The menu items are easy to access using the ring button and the OK button. You can access your contact list while on a call so you can look up a number for someone else.
My favorite functions are calculator and MP3 player.
I use the calculator for figuring sales tax about 3 times a day. 8.25% of $175.00 doesn't figure in my head easily. I selected calc. to my quick access button. Easy Pezy.
The MP3 player I only use occasionally, but it is better than most cheap players. You can view music by Songs, Playlists, Artists, Genres, or Albums. You can listen with the speakerphone but there is no bass. Plug in headphones or use a line out cord into your stereo system or computer speaker system and it's better than a CD player. The signal out is very good. And you can use it while the phone is plugged in charging. However, if someone calls it turns back into a phone, unless you select music only mode in Options. I put MP3 player on the Quick access button also. Simple Simon.
Speaking of signal strength, I almost never have a dropped call, unless it is caused by the other callers lesser phone carrier. VERIZON is the BEST CARRIER.PERIOD.
My biggest gripe with the phone is that it turns on apps at various times during the day. I've picked up my phone because I need to call a client, But it has decided that I want to find out what happened on this date in 1922 or I need to kmow what the weather forcast is for the next 15 days. I have to hit the disconnect button and wait for 10 seconds while I'm grumbling something about, Oh wait, lets keep this G rated. I don't like that. UPDATE. The apps have quit. I had a VERIZON Mgr. reset the phone to new again and the APPS went away. Battery life shot up significantly.
I recently bought a blue plastic snap on cover from Verizon. I loved the color, so I couldnt say no, even it makes the phone seem bulkier. The thing is, It helps prevent buttons from being pushed inadvertently in my pocket, thus eliminating what was apparently a drain on my battery.
I reallylike this Phone. ( DONT TEXT WHILE DRIVING PLEASE,ITS NOT WORTH IT !!! )
never buy it!

My 12 year old daughter has had this phone for 1 year and she hates it.the screen is too small it cant take video its dies on the 3rd "low battery" warning the left contacts button is jammed and 4 of the ones on the keyboard this happened on the third day she has had it and she absolutely hates it she has never dropped it and its sucks the hearing quality is bad there is no space between the buttons so you accadently hit different numbers and sometimes your text messages go to different people. therefore never buy the lg cosmos 2
