** DON'T BUY THIS PHONE **

This by far has to be the worst first smart phone experience that one could have. TMobile & Samsung should be ashamed for sticking people with this crappy phone.
If you want to find out for yourself - simply Google Samsung Gravity Smart internal memory errors & you'll see the sea of complaints about about this phone's ridiculously low internal memory.
I bought this Samsung Gravity Smart phone in November 2011 primarily because of the Wi-Fi calling, large screen & QWERTY keyboard thinking I really only needed to be able to make calls when I'm at home & my crappy TMobile reception fades out. This phone has a shamefully non-existent 150 Megabytes of internal memory compared to most phones that have at least 4 gigabytes.
So what does that mean for you?;
it means that you'll never be able to install ANY APP what so ever. It also means that you won't be able to receive any text messages because the memory will always be too low to allow the phone to receive messages. You'll be able to send them, but you'll daily have to delete every text message.
Trust me even if you're thinking that's okay, I'll only be using this phone for just this or that, I don't need a bunch of apps or games - it won't be okay... it won't :( You will be frustrated.
Even though it has virtually non-existent internal memory, T-Mobile & Samsung still chose to ship it preinstalled with 100 Mb of junk software that further helps to make the problem worst.
Please save yourself the inevitable headache that is sure to come & buy a different phone.
Also when you call T-Mobile to complain about the phone not functioning properly, you'll literally get a rep that tells you to check to see if apps are installed on the SD card. Well most apps aren't written to be installed on SD so that suggestion sucks. Also, even though an app may be saved to SD, the data it generates while you're using it goes in the internal memory. So guess what, you're still suck!
If you look on Samsung's site for internal memory problems, well here's how severe it is. They answer every other question about this phone online... YOU HAVE TO CALL THEM TO GET INTERNAL MEMORY ISSUES ADDRESSED!
That's how bad this phone is, they don't even want to answer the questions in a public forum. They throw rocks & then hide their hands! They're ashamed of even making this phone with this ridiculously low functionality.
If you only want a pretty phone that you can only make calls on, then this is the phone for you. It has pretty colors, nice screen, the keyboard isn't that good - it doesn't have arrow keys & a lot of the symbols take forever to get to like $.
Again to sum it up 150Mb of internal memory is a horrible thing for anyone, even a teen of housewife to deal with. And I got the phone free & I still paid too much for it. With an extended 2 year T-Mobile contract (which they messed up the billing & charged me 3 times what I should've been paying - TMobile you all have to get it together - please) & it still isn't worth what I paid for it.
WARNING DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE

I bought this phone back in August 2011. I knew little about smartphones and the Android system. I wish I knew more then like I do now, or I would have not purchased this particular phone. I do love the Android system. This phone has absolutely NO internal memory. When you download one app, it says internal memory full. So I purchased a 16GB micro SD card. However, most of the apps you can not transfer to the SD card. It can become very frustrating. Also, my phone says my messages are full and I can not receive incoming message and that I need to delete some, but when I try to delete, there are no messages to delete. Also, you can not uninstall some of the pre-installed apps. Very annoying, however, you can do a force stop or stop updates.
I would expect more from Samsung since their Galaxy tab is amazing.
Spend your money on something worth it. If you don't mind Apple and the i products, I would suggest the iPhone. Or buy a smartphone with good reviews and lots of internal space.
Terrible Phone: Not Worth the Money

I have had this phone for a year and had to replace it twice each time having to pay an additional 20 dollars per phone replacement as a Samsung Processing fee. The first time the touchscreen completely blacked out. The second time the touch screen no longer responded to touch. This phone is useless. I had a Blackberry before and wanted an Android to download more apps. This phone holds very few apps. It has hardly any internal memory. You cannot uninstall the worthless pre installed apps that take up space. I have to reset my phone at least several times a day because the keyboard will either malfunction or the phone will refuse to send a text message. My level of dissappointment with this phone is extreme and I discourage everyone from buying this piece of crap.
Samsung Gravity Smart - Berry Red

Samsung Gravity® Smart - Berry Red is, by far, a SMART phone! I've been using various gadgets since 1996. In 2003 I upgraded to a Blackberry, then to a Dash, and back to another Blackberry w/o any disappointments. In 2011 I thought I'd give the Samsung Gravity Smart Android a shot and did my upgrade. Why they have these on the market beats the heck out'a me. I have read all of the other reviews and cannot agree more. The internal memory is already full upon purchase leaving approx. 16mb of 200mb free to use. There is no way to manually remove any of the apps that are loaded, and the error messages do not correlate w/the correct applications. For instance, "memory full -->> delete some applications that are not in use, or visual voice mailbox full". Can't delete the apps., and there are no voice mail msgs to be deleted. Also, cannot transfer items (pics, videos, audio etc.) from internal MC to SD card. Obviously, this is an internal glitch w/in the actual apps themselves. Lastly, the processor is too slow for my liking. We should ALL get free replacements! Looking for another upgrade today! iPhone isn't looking bad.
Don't Get It

I got this phone a year ago for my father because he needed a smart phone and didn't want anything too fancy. Well, there's a difference between "not fancy" and "piece of crap" and this phone is definitely a piece of crap. It has a tiny amount of internal memory, which means that if you were to download anything or accumulate enough cache files from regular web browsing from regular use its internal memory will become full. Once that happens you get a constant error and neither e-mail nor text messages work. Worse, you can't uninstall any of the preloaded crap to make room.
The only reason why anyone would get this phone is for Android development. If this POC can run it, everything else can!
Do NOT purchase this phone.

This is a terrible phone. I could not be more dissatisfied with this phone. Signal sucks. Randomly freezes up. The flaws go on and on.
SUCKS AND YOU ARE STUCK WITH IT UNTIL YOUR CONTRACT IS UP!!!

I can repeat what everybody else is saying but I'll be here forever. This phone really, truly sucks and the internal memory is the truth! You CAN NOT do anything on this phone and the reviews about T-Mobile not doing anything about it is completely true. You are stuck with this crappy worthless phone until your contract it up. It is also being discontinued so to sell it here on Amazon for $230!!!??? Wow, seriously ppl, you are trying to get another sucker to buy into this and then do nothing about it when the phone fails to live up to everyday necessities.

I've had one of these for about 6 months and already had to replace it once because the touch screen went out! I couldn't make/receive phone calls! Not even from the physical keyboard! Also, the internal memory is tiny! If you get this phone and load any apps, you will be limited on updating the app because you will run out of internal memory. This setup is terrible! You can buy a 32 GB memory card, but it won't do you any good because the apps run on the internal memory, which is only 384 MB RAM / 512 MB ROM. Don't get this phone. Put your money towards something good.
