Great Phone! Great Service February 27, 2010

I bought this phone by amazon.com and the service was great! They didn't charge me a penny for delivery (UPS), and I had the best price possible for my BlackBerry. I waited for my brand new BlackBerry Curve 8520 2 days only. I saved hundreds of dollars, and after my purchase I just went to AT&T to connect my BB, and now it's working very well! I extremely recommend amazon.com as the best and safest place for buying on the Internet.

[[VIDEOID:mo2PB400G4HQ47W]]I picked up the Blackberry Curve 8520 with my corporate discount and walked away with a nice phone at a very reasonable price. I have to say that I really enjoy the web browser on the new BB. You can zoom in & out with ease. I thought no browser could compare to the iPod Safari besides the Android G1, but after getting this device - I can safely say that this browser is also one of the best. Its right behind the safari and G1. Prior models were confined to small screens, thirty-five dollar internet only data plans, and no ability to zoom in or out. You were subjected to a small screen and reading small text till your eyes was squinting like grandmas.

New OS (ONly 5.0 OS for SPrint and Verizon users)
Decent call quality (No issues yet)

For long time BB users, this device is really just a cosmetic upgrade with a new OS (Flashier Icons)
Micro USB (No more Mini USB)
No Flash on the camera
Only one theme
Feels like a plastic toy
No threaded text messaging
Poor screen resolution
Non RIMM Consumer Changes Mind!
No 3G (ONly 3G for Sprint and Verizon users)

Good entry level smartphones for new users who want to save without paying the high price. However, Verizon has pricey data and text messenging plans which are a requirement. Its hard to justify the plan prices for such an average entry level device.

Arrived Quick, Fast, and in a Hurry! Loved the price, paid a lot less than I would at the At&t store, kiosk, Wal-Mart, or EBAY! Brand new, no scratches..so in Love. Hooked on my Blackberry! Thanks Amazon!

Rate plans are misleading November 26, 2010

Be careful when you select the rate plan for you. I do not use alot of minutes or data so I know I did not want an unlimited plan. The 500 mins was plenty for $39.99 and the unlimted text was great for $10. Their data plan however is not accurate. They offer a data plan of 200 MB for $10. This is not true when you select this plan you actually get bumped up to $15 a month data plan. They also are offering to wave the activation fee, but they do not tell you that you have to pay for the activation fee first then 4 months later you will get refunded the amount. And you do not find any of this out unless you call the carrier. So you sign a two year agreement thinking you paying one amount, because they allowed you to select that plan, when in fact you are automatically upgraded to a higher amount and never told.

i order the blackberry 8520 and when i try turn it on it said the battery was dead so u connected the charger to the phone it was chargin fo a day nd still it says is not charged i figured something is wrong with the phone so i tried return it to amazon to get the sama phone or refund and amazon wont let me i gave 249.99$ for this phone and it doesnt work! now i dont have a phone and i cant have my money back amazon r thieft!

I bought this phone in August and I'm very happy with it. It was my first purchase I made on Amazon and I somewhat doubted its durability. But nooo, no problems as of yet. A great price for a non-contract phone. But for those who seek a phone with a great camera, I would say, invest in a different blackberry that has flash. This phone does not have flash. Takes great pictures in broad daylight but you can't use it in low lit areas and that really sucks.

I am pleased with this phone, however the previous version of the Blackberry Curve has a better feel, is more durable and longer battery life.
