Just got this one for my technophobic husband who just wants a phone to get and receive calls easily. It's loaded with plenty of bells and whistles (camera, music player, etc. etc.) he'll never use, but he loved it right out of the box. A few years ago he had a similar model, but wasn't put off by this phone's newer, sleaker view on the screen.
The numbers and letters on the buttons are easy for him to see without his readers, even in the dark, so he doesn't have any trouble hitting the right buttons the first time he tries, and he's got BIG fingers.
It's a great "starter phone" and I'd highly recommend the Samsung A237 for anyone who wants a simple, functional, rugged, but good-looking phone. All the extras are there if you want them but they don't get in the way of using it for POTS (plain-old-telephone-service).
I got myself the new Samsung Eternity, which I LOVE and haven't even looked at the DVD of instructions that came with it yet, but then I'm enough of a technogeek to be dangerous.

[[VIDEOID:mo1ZH35FRAHFAM2]]I have had this phone for 3 months. It is ok. It can take pictures, but it can't take videos. It is a very simple phone. If you're someone who only wants to make calls on this phone, this is a good phone for you. If you text a lot you might want to get a different phone.
