I dropped my iphone in the sink, it sunk, and since a new version comes out in a month, I had to get something to tide me over---so I took a chance on the dreaded Microsoft and an often panned Pantech Duo. I've had it two weeks now and I have to say: this was a lucky find.
First of all, this is not a flimsy phone as has been reported. With two sliding keyboards (much like a magic trick!), it is amazingly solid. The screen is extremely bright and vivid. The QUERTY keyboard is small, but way better than a touch screen, however, there is almost no sense of feedback, so you still have to be careful.
Phone-wise, it sounds very good to me, and gets signal where Iphone couldn't. It has a bounty of software, including To-Do and various versions of OFFICE. 3G internet access is pretty fast, nothing compared to a good laptop on a DSL, but usable.
I like that it is very easy to change ringers, from silent to normal to vibrate. The camera is just ok, but I don't really count on my phone to serve as my photographic equipment.
It's a little chunky, but its other dimensions are quite small.
All in all, I haven't seen a phone out there without a touch screen which is better. The ATT tilt is way bigger and heavier, and has no mechanical buttons for dialing.
I think most people would enjoy this phone. It does not sync with a Mac, by the way, unless you buy 3rd party software. Aside from that, it's a winner for me.

I purchased the Pantech C810 Duo several weeks ago. My observations are:
1) Small and compact considering all the features and full QWERTY keyboard.
2) Reception is good and internet is fast.
3) I've read other reviews that said the phone seemed "flimsy", but I do not experience this. It could be because this phone is made mostly of plastic compared to other metal phones.
4) It is convenient that it is GPS capable, however, I feel ripped off paying $10 a month for GPS when other GPS units (Garmin, TomTom, Magellan, etc.) are free.
5) Battery life appears good. I recharge about every other day, but that's with heavy texting and internet usage.
6) Picture quality is quite good, however, I haven't played with the video yet. Personally, I find it very difficult to watch video on such tiny screens when I'm used to my 60" at home.
7) Music quality is as good as any other product I have ever used.
8) If you plan to use Excel and Word, you can definitely do it with this device, but it will definitely get some getting used to. There's nothing I need to do in Excel or Word that I can't wait until I get back to my PC to do.
9) Amazing amount of phone and features for the price.
In summary, this is a great phone and can do a lot of features. I would be ecstatic if they could implement a "Garmin" type of GPS so I wouldn't have to pay so much for GPS from ATT. It's outrageous that ATT charges a separate GPS fee in addition to their media package fee.

I have had this phone for about 8 months now, love the ablitity to text with the key board as well as with the numerical pad. I really like the beam feature (the ability to beam a picture from my phone to my laptop, without connecting it). The only thing that i can honestly say that drives me crazy about this phone is while talking on the phone and I get a text from someone, the person that I am talking to will have there ear blasted out if I dont have it on vibrate or silent mode. Other than that I have no issues with this phone.

I have had this phone for about 6 months with no problems. the battery life changes alot if you just have the keyboard lights turn on after dark.

I hate this phone. I got it about three months ago and was pleased for the most part, but then I started to realize all the stupid little problems it has. The biggest one being that text messages often fail to send, and instead of trying to resend the message, the phone just throws the message into the 'Drafts' folder. This is really obnoxious because it has happened several times that I responded to someones text, only to realize an hour or so later that my response never went through. If you want to make sure your text went through, you have to keep looking at the screen for a few seconds to make sure that it goes through, because when it does go through, it tells you. Resending a message that fails to go through the first time seems like such a basic and obvious feature and the lack of it on this phone just makes me want to throw it against a wall sometimes. The internet is slow compared to the IPhone and the reception and sound quality are [...]. The only redeeming quality is the qwerty keyboard.

This is my first smartphone and I was very excited to get it and add a data plan to my account. I used it a ton for the first few months and it seemed to be great. It took a while for hotmail to sync but after I got that straightened out I loved my phone. Then one morning it was DEAD, it would not take a charge, it would not turn on, nothing, just DEAD. I expect a phone to last a LOT longer than 2 months.

I purchased my Pantech around a month ago. So far the phone has worked okay. Somedays I don't get texts or calls so I check my phone and it says try again later, service is unavailable. I have to shut the phone off for a little while and restart it to get service. Not exactly what I was expecting from this phone. I guess you get what you pay for (.01).

I had this phone for over a year and can't wait for my plan to expire to upgrade. Overall, phone is OK if you can tolerate Microsoft CE bootup, but as the phone ages, the battery life will last less than 1 day! Even if you dont use it.

I bought this phone after Thanksgiving and as of today (May 27th) I was told by Best Buy (where I bought it) that I would need to send it in for repairs. The phone part is very unreliable. I find the whole Windows Mobile OS to be pretty lame. While it "syncs" with my computer it is quite easy to make a change and not realize that you just deleted all you contacts, calender appointments, emails, or files from the phone until you have left home and have no way of getting the information you wanted. I did eventually get the Unlimited Data package and that did help some it was still annoying to find out that I was paying $30 extra a month for data that did not give me the true internet but rather gave me unlimited access to the "MediaNet" and it's strange version of a handful of sites. Very disappointing.
I have to say that I do like the two sliding parts to expose the different keyboards, however, I do find the phone to be about 3/16 of an inch too thick.
The lesson I learned from this is I should have just bought the iPhone and skipped the whole windows mobile option. I find the phone to be more frustrating than helpful and I will refer to my iPod touch before I will try to find the same information in my phone.
I don't know what I would change to make this better. My only advice would be to change everything and make a shameless clone of the iPhone. I am not normally this negative but this phone really has angered me a great deal. It wasn't cheap either: $100 plus some other fee I can't remember. To all of you out there who like this phone, more power to you. Signed an angry Pantech owner.
