Product Description

Combining an interactive touchscreen for easy navigation and a full QWERTY keyboard for fast communication, the groundbreaking LG Voyager offers a powerful mobile communication and entertainment platform. It features dual screens, with the exterior touchscreen offering VibeTouch technology for tactile feedback and a touch protection feature that prevents unwanted key actions. The Voyager gives you access to V CAST Video--Verizon Wireless' multimedia service with news, sports and entertainment video clips, 3D games and more--as well as V CAST Music, which offers access to more than 2.4 million songs that can be purchased and downloaded over-the-air. Other features include a 2-megapixel camera/camcorder, MicroSD memory expansion, Bluetooth connectivity for headsets and stereo music streaming, multi-format digital music player, and optional GPS turn-by-turn navigation services. It operates on Verizon's 850/1900 CDMA frequencies, and offers fast connectivity through Verizon's EV-DO data network.

Verizon Service
With support for the EV-DO high-speed data standard, you'll enjoy fast access to the Internet and Verizon's multimedia services (additional charges applicable), with average download speeds ranging from 400 to 700 Kbps and peak rates up to 2 Mbps. (Learn more about where EV-DO coverage is offered.) With V Cast Mobile TV, this phone supports live TV broadcasts using MediaFLO technology to deliver full-length television programming from some of the most popular TV channels right to your phone. You'll be able to channel surf with no buffering, take calls without interrupting the program you're watching, and get text reminders for your favorite shows sent straight to your phone. Channel selection includes CBS Mobile, NBC News, Comedy Central, ESPN, Fox News, MTV, and Nickelodeon.

The V Cast Music service enables you to download songs instantly to your phone, or purchase music through your PC and transfer the files to your phone. If purchased from your phone, you'll receive two copies of the song: a Windows Media Audio Pro Plus format at 64Kbps stereo is sent to your phone, and a Windows Media Audio 9 format at 160Kbps stereo is sent to your account in the V CAST Music online store for downloading to your PC. V Cast Music offers nearly 2 million songs, with more being added all the time.

Featuring an interactive navigation touchscreen on the exterior, the LG Voyager opens to reveal a full QWERY keyboard.
In addition to the V Cast Music service, this phone is also compatible with Verizon's V CAST Music with Rhapsody, which enables you to access this exclusive digital music service for RealNetworks and for MTV Networks. V CAST Music with Rhapsody delivers unlimited monthly access to music on up to three Rhapsody-compatible mobile phones and players and online on multiple PCs and Web browsers. In addition, customers who purchase music over-the-air are able to download the master copy of the songs or albums to their PCs free of digital rights management (DRM) software that restricts how and where music can be played.

With the V Cast Video service, you can stream or download video clips to your phone from a variety of news, entertainment, sports, and weather channels, including CNN, ABC News, E!, CBS Sports, The Weather Channel, and VH1.

Verizon's Mobile eMail gives you access to your Windows Live Hotmail, Yahoo Mail and AOL accounts so you can read, write, and reply. Access your address book, receive e-mail alerts and more, right on your Verizon Wireless phone. Getting on the Internet is easy using Verizon's Mobile Web 2.0 package, which allows you to read and send e-mails, exchange instant messages and view your favorite web content on your phone. Verizon's Media Center wireless download service is also fully compatible with this phone. This pay-per-download service features application downloads, games and productivity tools. You can also personalize your handset with ringtone downloads using the Media Center service.

With this GPS-enabled phone, you'll be able to access Verizon's VZ Navigator service (additional charges applicable) for voice-prompted turn-by-turn directions, heads-up alerts, local search of nearly 14 million points of interest in the US (such as landmarks, restaurants and ATMs), and detailed color maps. And Verizon's Chaperone service lets you easily locate your loved ones from your Verizon Wireless phone or PC in real time. After defining a zone, such as an area designating a school or summer camp, you'll be sent an alert via text message when the Chaperone handset enters or leaves the zone.

The interior of the Voyager also includes a second widescreen (non-touch) LCD.

5 out of 5 stars Great phone January 30, 2009

Reviewer:  Andrew Philip  (Massachusetts, USA) -

I like this phone. The touch screen is fairly responsive. The touch screen works off of pressure unlike the iphone which operates off of heat. The iphone is more responsive in comparison.

The voyagers speaker phone is loud and very clear. The ringer is kind of distorted at loud volumes when using MP3's as ringtones. The camera takes a pretty good picture - although there is no flash. The LCD screen is at a very high resolution and very clear - although there is no brightness control on the phone. The phone has bluetooth which is as responsive as it should be, I had no problem pairing it with my car.

I have heard of people complaining about the shiny outer edge peeling. I have had my phone for months with no case, and I just leave it in my pocket when I'm out and about. The phone has no nicks or scratches and the shiny outer edge is still perfectly in tact.

Overall the phone is great.

4 out of 5 stars Very awesome and slick phone. December 6, 2008

Reviewer:  G. Cerda  (Los Angeles, CA USA) -

This is one nice phone and I just upgraded from my old LG VX9900 or the enV phone. This is one nice upgrade which is significantly thinner and rests evenly on a smooth surface which removes the twisting camera lens cover and unfortunately the flash. Still takes nice pictures when your not in a dark place. Not sure what else is new with the new Titanium finish phone, but it may leave the color last longer as I noticed with the first model which the paint job starts to come off after a while. Also when you first start to use it, it may freeze but only for a little while then it starts to work like it never happened.

Pros: Slick new design, a bigger external screen with touch, full Qwerty pad, great call quality,V-Cast mobile TV (although very few to choose from), Bluetooth, HTML web browser (could be used on the touch screen side or inside), and GPS.

Cons: No flash, no Wi-Fi, Touch screen may seem confusing at times (remember to calibrate it as well), a Qwerty touch screen use which only works for the web browser and not texting itself (depends how you look at the problem if it is at all), and video quality isn't that great (better than most phones though).

An overall great phone if you want an upgrade from the enV phone or just looking for a nicer phone this is a great one to get.

4 out of 5 stars Not Bad May 7, 2009

Reviewer:  Hank  (Florida) -

I've had this phone for about a month now, so far I haven't had any major problems. I do have two things that I don't really like but I can live with, one is the camera doesn't have a flash, and second thing is the touch screen is not very responsive, but I'm getting use to it. I went from a Blackberry Curve to this one and I really like the GPS Navigation, Web interface, and Mobile TV in this phone better than the Blackberry. I get better coverage with Verizon Wireless than I did with Sprint, about 80% better coverage.

3 out of 5 stars Meh August 8, 2009

Reviewer:  Amy Kalvig "Amy"  (Bellevue, Ohio) -

The Voyager Titanium is an okay phone. For what it's supposed to do, it works.

I hate the touch screen. It rarely responds to my touch and when it does respond, it responds in ways I did not want. It is very frustrating. I have calibrated the damned thing several times and still cannot get it to respond to my touch.

I have difficulty finding where the LG people have placed certain tasks, options or settings. For example, I know that I can change the voice of the Command Lady, but, cannot find where it is. I swear, I've gone through every option on the menu looking for it. I know it's there because I saw it once before.

As I said, it's an okay phone. I can hear everyone and they can hear me. That's the most important thing, I guess.

5 out of 5 stars Very pleased so far January 26, 2009

Reviewer:  anonymous

I just upgraded from an old Nokia (not even a flip phone, but I'm still sad to not be using it anymore.) The main draw to this model was the QWERTY keyboard, since I frequently text. I must say, this phone was easy to use straight from the box. There are plenty of features, and over all, I'd have to say it's got a lot of bang for the buck.

4 out of 5 stars Overall Decent Phone May 3, 2009

Reviewer:  A Connor "celestialllusion"  (Denver, Colorado) -

My husband and I purchased the Voyager about 8 months ago and found it to be an overall decent phone. As with any phone, this one has it fair share of great features and some that leave more to be desired.

Pros: The battery life for the phone is pretty decent considering it's high-quality display and plethora of nifty features that typically drain battery life. I use my phone heavily and only have to charge it about every other day. The phone gets great reception and the ring volume is sufficient to hear in a crowded room. The external touch-screen and flip full-keyboard provide options for any user to easily navigate and utilize all the phone's features.

Cons: For some reason, both my husband and I have noticed that zoom feature on the camera does not work unless it's in video mode making it useless as a camera function. My phone would sometimes turn off randomly when I sent picture messages, though I found this was only the case if there was an animated background on either the external or internal display screens.

Overall, the phone has a great design and decent functionality.

1 out of 5 stars Beware of this phone November 25, 2009

Reviewer:  Jon Bach

I bought this phone not quite 2 years ago and I'm on my second one. It's one of the worst cell phones I've ever owned. The first phone I had starting going bad literally days before the warranty expired. The touch screen functionality went out. Fortunately it was replaced for free. A few months later, the same problem occurred. I decided to just wait out my contract since it was almost up, but then the phone started going haywire. Now when I access voicemail (I have to open the flip to use the keypad) and close the phone to hear the message, the phone goes into an unlock position and continually presses the 6 button on the keypad. This means my voicemail password is always wrong and I have to open the phone up and re-do the password. The only way to listen to messages is via speakerphone with the flip open or to wait for the message to start playing and then close the phone and put it in locked mode. All the other features are great, but who cares! It's such a pain to use at this point that nothing else matters. What's worse is that I've become paranoid about other touch screen phones. Who has time for this kind of thing?

1 out of 5 stars Terrible phone! August 28, 2009

Reviewer:  Stephen J. Falkow  (maryland) -

This is by far the worst phone I've ever had. Got it when I switched to verizon last year, and have regretted doing so. Here are the problems I've encountered:

1) Touch screen is almost useless for scrolling-it registers a selection when you try to scroll, even with the lightest touch.
2) Battery life is abysmal. When my phone needed recharging every day-without use!- I brought it to a verizon store since it was still under warranty. The tech said it was the phone, not the battery (shouldn't have trusted him). Verizon sent a replacement, a refurbished, dirty phone, and the problem was not solved. I'm now on my 3rd battery with same results.
3) For this poor quality, it's very expensive even with a new service contract.
The phone is basically useless; it powers down after one text or call. Get an iPhone instead.

3 out of 5 stars The best verizon could do? June 9, 2009

Reviewer:  Howard L. Dunlap "HD4me"  (Owings, Md.) -

I've had this for about 3 weeks now, and I have a hard time navigating my address book from the exterior. Every time you try to scroll, it opens the contact you've inadvertently touched. The reception is also spottier than usual. My razor 2 had awesome reception. I never lost a call. I lose them all the time now. And a lot of the calls don't always drop; You just don't come through very clear for the person you are/ were talking to. Aside from that,.. You can text your butt off with it. And, the camera is pretty good. I would actually give it a 2 1/2 if it were permitted. I sure hope Verizon picks up the iPhone.
