The LG Glance includes a 1.3-megapixel camera for still photos, Bluetooth for handsfree devices and MicroSD memory expansion.
Verizon Wireless Service
With this GPS-enabled phone, you'll be able to access the Verizon Wireless VZ Navigator service (additional charges applicable) for voice-prompted turn-by-turn directions, heads-up alerts, local search of nearly 14 million points of interest in the US (such as landmarks, restaurants and ATMs), and detailed color maps. And the Chaperone service lets you easily locate your loved ones from your Verizon Wireless phone or PC in real time. After defining a zone, such as an area designating a school or summer camp, you'll be sent an alert via text message when the Chaperone handset enters or leaves the zone.

Getting on the Internet is easy using the Verizon Wireless Mobile Web 2.0 package, which allows you to read and send e-mails, exchange instant messages and view your favorite web content on your phone. The Verizon Wireless Media Center wireless download service is also fully compatible with this phone. This pay-per-download service features application downloads, games and productivity tools. You can also personalize your handset with ringtone downloads using the Media Center service.

The stylish LG Glance has a woven metal backplate that goes perfectly with a fine Italian handbag or briefcase.
Phone Features
The LG Glance has a 2-inch LCD screen (240 x 320 pixels, 262K colors) that's complemented by a stylishly integrated navigation pad, standard send/end/clear keys, and an alpha-numeric keypad. The phone has a small internal memory and offers memory expansion up to 4 GB using optional MicroSD memory cards. It can store up to 1000 entries in its phonebook, and it offers support for multiple numbers per contact as well as photo/ringer ID and caller groups. The phone comes with multiple unique polyphonic ringtones, and it has vibrate and silent modes when you need to keep things quiet. The phone lets you match pictures with callers to identify them, and the Glance's voice recognition software supports voice commands from any user, not just a pre-programmed user's voice.

Handsfree communication is easy thanks to the integrated speakerphone. This phone provides the latest version of Bluetooth connectivity--version 2.1 + EDR (Enhanced Data Rate), which makes pairing with a headset as well as other Bluetooth devices a snap.

The 1.3-megapixel camera can shoot still photos in three resolutions (1280 x 960, 640 x 480, and 320 x 240 pixels), and you can use the phone's image editor to crop and rotate photos as well as add color effects. Other features include brightness and white balance controls, multiple shutter sounds, night mode, and a self-timer. After you've shot your pics, you can view them in a slide show on the phone's LCD in landscape orientation.

The Glance has all the bases covered when it comes to messaging, too, with support for sending and receiving text, picture, and video messages as well as mobile instant messaging (IM). There's also a complete e-mail client on the device for POP- and IMAP-based accounts.

Other features include:

  • Tools: Calculator, Calendar, Alarm Clock, Stopwatch, World Clock, Notepad, Ez Tip Calculator, Info Search
  • Speakerphone
  • Voice Commands: Call, Send MsgTo, Go To, Check, Contacts, Redial, My Verizon, Help
  • Embedded Ring Tones, Vibrating Alert & Silent
  • Airplane Mode
  • Bilingual Interface-English/Espanol
  • TTY/TDD Support
  • In Case Emergency Contacts
  • 2.5mm Headset Jack
  • Hearing Aid Compatibility = M4

4 out of 5 stars Nice phone if size matters July 15, 2009

I've always liked really thin phones and this is THIN. I'm not a belt clip kinda guy and it fits well in a coat/shirt/cargo pocket with no bulk. If you want alot of bells and whistles this might not be right for you. But if you "talk" on a cell, do average texting and use Bluetooth, it'll work. The camera is only 1.3mp so no great photos and the back battery cover is gold weave, looks a little cheesey.[[ASIN:B002BA5VWE LG Glance VX7100 Phone, Black (Verizon Wireless)]]

2 out of 5 stars BUYER BEWARE! July 22, 2009

Reviewer:  M. Hoffman  (VA, USA) -

Backup Assistant doesn't seem to work on this phone. I've had two in the past week. If you click on BA from the phone, it'll reset the phone. If you go to the computer and choose backup now, it'll reset th phone. VZW can't seem to resolve the problem. LG's cust serv is useless. If you don't care about BA, the phone is great .. fun. But if you're relying on BA, beware. It may not be backing you up. Neither of the ones I had did. The BA worked in the store, but 5 hours later, it was rebooting when I tried to do BA. Just thought you should know.
